1. What is Center for Orphans Welfare?
Center for Orphans Welfare (C.O.W.) is a certified NGO, established in 2005, with the sole objective of serving orphans and vulnerable children. A board of trustees governs Center for Orphans Welfare and the day-to-day activities are managed by a group of dedicated volunteers.

2. What does Center for Orphans Welfare do? 
The Center for Orphans Welfare (COW) helps orphans and vulnerable children in the war torn districts of Moyo and Adjumani in Northern Uganda to achieve self-reliance through education, vocational training and income generating activities.

4. How does Center for Orphans Welfare raise funds?
The two main sources of funds that Center for Orphans Welfare depends on are the donations from philanthropic public and from organizations, which give importance to corporate social responsibility. Public contribution in cash and kind helps in meeting the day to day needs, while corporate support also helps in implementing projects. Center for Orphans Welfare also plans several fundraising events in the U.S. to build capital for ongoing projects.

5. Will my small contribution make a difference to this overwhelming problem?
The Center for Orphans Welfare has demonstrated that each of us contributing to the degree we can in our own unique way can accomplish amazing things. Today, more than 80% of the funds Center for Orphans Welfare raises come from individual donors. "Whatever you do will make a difference to a child's life and to your own."

6. Are Center for Orphans Welfare employees paid for their work?
Center for Orphans Welfare has a small staff in the US and Africa, which are paid salaries. It is important to note, however, that Center for Orphans Welfare salaries are modest in comparison with commercial organisations. Our objective is to obtain long-term, full-time, dedicated services from professionally qualified individuals. We believe these are necessary to ensure that all our activities - development, support, financial management etc. - are carried out effectively and efficiently, thus ensuring that the resources we raise from the public are utilised optimally.

7. How are resources used?
We would like to take this opportunity, to reiterate our on-going need for support to Center for Orphans Welfare, in the form of infrastructure, equipment, corpus funds, skills and services. It is support of this nature that enables us to focus on our activities in the field rather than on our own viability. Every dollar we save on costs is another dollar that can be deployed to the benefit of orphaned children.
